Shows for 2010
Alrighty then, the year is over and this year, i've found a place where, Awkward Love Scene, will perform EVERY WEEK! It's in Ancaster, at the Coach and Lantern. i dunno wat time it will be, and how long this will last, but hopefully it will turn out alright. This year's been good for Awkward Love Scene, and next year can only be even better(although I'm thinking about changing the name again). btw, over a month since the Coffee House at Parkside H.S, someone said we did really good and actually knew who we were. How messed is that???

Another Decade Over
Well, the 2000s are about to end , and bringing in the 2010s(how do you pronounce that??). With that we can finally wash our hands away of the Bush era and such and move on, to a more prosperous decade, where hopefully, Awkward Love Scene will fing its way into the homes of millions(but I'll settle for 1000s). Anyway, for this, I thought I'd review the best things that happened this decade in terms of entertainment:
10. Live 8 happened(with Bono dropping his guiatr pick)
9. Britney Spears kissed Madonna(!!)
8. Pokemon got worse and worse(to the point where I can't name all them off by heart)
7. Emo music came(and gradually got worsde and worse)and went
6. Led Zepplin reunited
5. Angry Video Game Nerd and Nostagic Critic(need I write more??)
4. The Dark Knight
3. Barack Obama elected President(of the United States)
2. South Park still remains on the air
1. Michael Jackson died(you decide if this is a good thing or a bad thing).
In my books, these events stick out in my mind as something that I'll remember in the new decade, not that I won't remember other things such as 9/11 or Hurricane Katrina, just these were events that made us forget. Forget we lived in a shitty world run by idiots. Finally I wish you all a very Merry Christmas(or any holiday that you celebrate mind you) and a Happy New Year. Lets hope its a good one with much less to fear.

The Immortal...

I know over this year, I have not honoured, or mentioned the death, or birthdays of rock stars that I love. Well on this day 29 yaers ago, John Winston Ono Lennon, on the road to a comeback was shot dead my the disgraceful Mark David Chapman. This story has been told to death, but I'd like to say, that John Lennon inspired me to do more, in music and life then proabley anyone else. He is a true guardian and hero to those who share my feelings. John as we all know is not remembered for his death, because, without the music that made him who he was, there would be nothing. Lennon was quotied say "Without Elvis, there would be no Beatles". Well, without John Lennon, there would be nothing in the music to live for. Peace.

It's An (Hopefully) Unlimited Supply
Joseph Keating is fired. He failed to show up to the band Awkward Love Scene's first gig, due to siome sort of illness. Because of the amount of pressure that was put on me, Alek Wheeler, during that night, I must dissmiss Joseph from the band. That being said, anyone who wants to be in a band as any of the following(guitar"lead", bass, drums, singer, roadie, manager), then please contact me @ alecwheeler346@gmail.com. Any help would be grateful. That being said, the Coffee House was a success, with the performance of Rain, by The Beatles, Top Stories, written by Awkward Love Scene, and I Fought The Law, by The Clash. I thank anyone who came out to it, and anyone who continues to read this blog. It's been a while, but more reviews will be up soon, I promise. ;)

New Name and New Gig
Well, in the great tradition of bands who can't decide on names, this band has gone through another name change, but this one may actually stick. Previously, its been called Red Shirt and 3 Spheres. But, lo and behold, the name is Awkward Love Scene now. And with this new name, we have our first gig under our new name in two weeks at Parkside H.S. on Nov. 25 from 6-9pm. It's a coffee house, so we only show for about 10 minutes, but still, it's better then nothing, ya know. I saw our, because, we are no longer a solo act. We have a bass player!! His name is Joseph Keating, and he's the newest addition to the band. Still looking for another guitarist/drummer, but I'll take what I can get. Anyway, if your in the town of Dundas come Nov. 25, then why not pay $3. and come see a great gig, with one of the best new bands around: Awkward Love Scene.

Album: Bleach

3.5/5
For those of us that looked hard after the release of "Nevermind", we found the debut album "Bleach". And we were in for a treat. For there is nothing in common with "Bleach" that is with "Nevermind". "Bleach" is more "true punk" as opposed to the poppyness of "Nevermind". And that's why there are "Nirvana" fans, and people that just like Nirvana. The album's songs are far from horrible. In fact, they are among my favourite. "Floyd the Barber, About a Girl, School, Love Buzz" all make a love trianle, blending perfectly together, with guitars out to kill and lyrics impossible to understand. The songs are poppy in a new sense of pop. This is what pop goes for nowadays, and Nirvana knew this, they were just 10 years ahead of the times. The album is fast paced, with no signs of letting up until the sudden crash at the end. A full 2 years would pass before they would record a new album, and by then they're style remained the same, as did the hardcore Nirvana fans, who like to remember the time before Nirvana was big and lived by the record that they had:"Bleach"
Movie: A Clockwork Orange

5/5
There are few films that have been made in history that after 30 years still bring up controversy. A Clockwork Orange is one such film. Released in 1971, this film is
the Malcolm McDowell film(for fans of Halloween, this is Dr. Loomis in the remake). The amount of acting that he gives in this film is unbelieveable. I've watched this movie many times and I still can't get over it. This is hands down one of the best performances I've seen in any film. The movie goes off like a sci-fi film, but it talks like a crime move and a drama all at the same time. Much fame has been brought to this movie due to the violence and sexual content, and it's no joke. There is more boobs in this movie then in the remakes of Friday the 13th and Halloween combined. This movie was banned in England for 26 years after its release, and still gets a hard "R" rating up here in Canada. In typical Kubrick fashion, this film does go one for a while(2 hours 13 min), but if you cvan dig this flick(and there are those who can), then look at this gem of a film. The art, the music, the acting, the violence, the sex, it's all here for your pleasure, but brace yourself as you're in for a crazy ride.

Movie: Whip It

4.5/5
Okay, I didn't illegally download this or anything. I legally went to the movies on a Saturday night and it was playing at 7:00(!!). So I went in to see the first "real"(I say real cause it's her first starring role since the incredible "Juno"). But anyway, I saw it, and I was totally surpirsied by this film. Being the debut of Drew Barrymore, I didnèt have high expectations for anyone except Ellen Page. But all the actors perfomed surprisingly well, with a cast like Zoe Ball, Drew Barrymore and Academy Award winning Marica Gay Harden. The movie itself starts off slow, but picks up about a half hour through, but then slows down until the last half hour. This is one Ellen Pages best movies, right up there with ¨An American Crime¨ and ¨Juno¨. She knows this isnt in the same class as these movies, and yet, she still performs brilliantly. She has a great many years ahead of herself, and for the first movie of anyone to see her in, I recomend ¨Whip It¨, the little movie with a great story, music, and above all else, acting.

Album: Mystery Girl

4/5
In many ways, and not so many ways, Roy Orbison is like Elvis, both from the southern United States, both popular in the early 60's and both dying of a heart attack, in their bathroom. The only reason I choose Roy is because he was on the way to the biggest comeback since John Lennon, but he never lived to see it. Roy Orbison, for those who don't know, was one of the earliest big touring stars, working with the likes of Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley. He was the idol of Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and many people who grew up in the 50's. But by the time of the British Invasion, he was reduced to acts such as opening for The Beatles. Time went on, and he was forgotten. But then, in 1987, with the release of his Greatest Hits Album, he was once again being interviewed, and performing. The album Mystery Girl was to be his comeback, with tracks like "You Got It", "She's a Mystery to Me" and "California Blue", you could tell he was putting real work into the album, with real vocals, unlike today's screamo kids. This man HAD a voice! Sadley, he died before the album was released, but this album, along with the Traveling Wilburys album(with George Harrison and Bob Dylan), would had propelled him to stardom once again. Roy Orbison is a gem, that if we look hard enough, can shine like gold.

Album: Ten

3.5/5
We all know this group, they've been around since '91, but yet, something about them everytime just makes us tick. The music has aged suprisingly well, considering this is a debut. But like Nevermind this album surprised the music world. The only diference was Nirvana already had a album out before Nevermind, and Ten was Pearl Jam's debut. And just like the Beatles and The Rolling Stones before them, and 2Pac and Nortorious B.I.G after, this began a rivally between people, on who was better, and who would last the longest. Well, as everyone knows, Nirvana isn't around(sadly), and the mighty Jam continues to howl out piowerful, obscure lyrics(sometimes). Now as for music, this is some of the best I ever heard, especially the opening track "Once" and my personal fav track "Even Flow". "Jeremy" is proabley the most well known, especially for people who don't know who Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder is one of the most easily reconizable voices in the music world, and one of my favourite singers. much has been said about this album already, but the only thing I can give that's negative about this album is the overall differences of the songs: there are none, sometimes, I'll just turn it off. but that's rare with me. Overall, Pearl Jam's first album is the most well known of them, and some might agree the best, and I'm proud to own a copy of this masterpiece.

U2 360 Tour: My Thoughts
Alrighty then, last night, I went to the U2 concert in Toronto.
And now, I will share with you people who never will see it, what it was like. Well, for starters, Snow Patrol opened, which is a bonus for me, cause I've had a bit of a thing for em, since my girlfriend got me into em. But you don't care about them, you wanna know about the mighty U2. Well, there was too long a wait in between Snow Patrol and U2(a full hour), and I was in general admission as well, so tonz of fun there. But then, Larry Mullan Jr. came on, followed by The Edge and Adam Clayton, and last but not least, Bono made a spectacular apperance. Now as far as songs, as far as I can remember, the first 4 songs were off No Line on the Horizon. Then "Beautiful Day" followed by "Elevation". After this, I believe they played a few songs from The Joshua Tree, Acthung Baby, All That You Can't Leave Behind and No Line on the Horizion with the exceptions of "Vertigo, Sunday Bloody Sunday and Stand by Me(actually, that was more an interlude then anything else), but for me, the crowning achievement was the encore of "With or Without You". Words cannot describe the awesome feeling of this, and this is proabley the last time I'll ever see them, and even though I don't worship the band as much as some of you, I still thought it was, in the words of Bono, Magnificant.

How I Spent My Strummer Vacation
Well, its that time of the year again, so lets do some reflecting on summer. I bought a new guitar, left Borden and the navy altogether, got into the Punk revolution(Sex Pistols, The Clash etc.), went to Pike Bay up by Lake Huron, was on the computer for most of the summer, and just as much, I was stumming away on the guitar to such classics as And Your Bird Can Sing and Come As You Are, sold my old electric guitar as previously mentioned, and watched a ton of movies, from Sex and the City to Sid and Nancy, extended by album collection to have more then double from the beginning and hung out with by girlfriend. Not a whole lot, and not nearly as much as I originally thought. But all in all, this was one of the most lax, and fun summers I ever hadd. I'll never get another summer like I had last year, and I thought thatw as the best one, but now the only one I have for a template for the next one is this one. Overall this was a great summer, I'd give it a 8/10. Coming up more movie and album reviews.

Album: Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols
4.5/5What a album! After 30 years, this album still sings(or yells, take your pick) with pa-zaz and filth. Johnny Rotten belts out songs that no-one(except the Clash maybe), would dare say. The key song "God Save the Queen", still sends a message to everyone who hates the Royals, or at least the Queen herself. The only thing I could say that makes this album inperfect is that the songs seem to drag on after "Anarchy in the U.K", which is a song that cannot be topped. "Holiday in the Sun, Bodies, Animal, EMI" gems, gems, gems. The Sex Pistols were only around for 26 months, this album is a symbol, a marker for the greatest punk band ever, and even if some people don't like to admit that, this album is one of the best, if not the best album made by a group of this time. So many groups that could be traced to having influence from this album, I cannot put them all. But let me tell you, if your 13 years old, you can still annoy, or remind them, of the music of the Sex Pistols
Movie: 10 Things I Hate About You
4/5Okay, for starters I'm not gay, (even though I have much respect for them). But this film is one that I would watch regardless of sexual orientation. Oh, wait, this isn't Brokeback Mountain! This is "10 ThingsI Hate About You", a old high school comedy/drama. How do I know it's old: the Barenaked Ladies do a song in it. All the stars in this movie, Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, play their parts perfectly. Its almost amazing to watch Ledger, especially after watching such movie as, say...The Dark Knight, Brokeback Mountain, to name but a few. The movie is light, fun to watch, and a perfect modern day adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew(at least they didn't fuck up like on Romeo+Juliet). There is really no moral in this movie, the music is perfect 90s sounds(pay note to all the Riot Grrrl music in the movie). Bottem line, its a comedy, a great movie, and the first real Heath Ledger movie. If you truly are a Heath fan, then you won't wanna miss this movie. Oh, on a sidenote, Joseph Gordon-Levett, star of "(500) Days of Summer", also appears. Need I say more.

Album: Black Ice
4/5I'll admit that despite the enormous fame that the band AC/DC has, this was the firts album by them I ever bought. But let me tell you, it was a good choice. The album starts with "Rock N' Roll Train" and that sets the tone for the album. The band has been around for over 30 years, and they still sound the same as they did back when they were just 5 Australians. The album is also a value for its money, with a full 15 tracks for around 10$, considering albums have only 9-12 tracks and are around the same price (see "No Line" by U2 as a perfect example). Tracks like "War Machine", "Black Ice" and "Big Jack" are fully loaded, and they unlease themselves upon you with no hesitation. It's too bad there arn't many bands like that, but that's what makes AC/DC special. They have survived all that has destroyed bands like Nirvana, The Beatles and thrived during a musical recession. Black Ice proves this.

Set List for (Band)
Well, well well, here we are. We have arrived 8 months later and we have this many songs down: And Your Bird Can Sing, Nowhere Man, In My Life(The Beatles), Come as you are, All Apoligies, Something in the Way(Nirvana), Peggy Sue, I Fought the Law(Buddy Holly, though played the John Lennon way/Clash way), and a few unnamed creations of my own. But other then that, I got nothing. Zip. And that's not the worst part. The worst thing is out of the whole 8 months, this "band" has only had one member: me. No-one else. But then again, that's from lack of searching, but seriously, if anyone shares my views/lookimng to join a band, drop me a line at my email (alecwheeler346@gmail.com), if your interseted.
Movie: The Reader

1.5/5
Okay, okay, so sue me. This is a Academy Award Winning movie, as well as having numerous other nominations. Well, in my personal opinion, this movie gets what it deserves, and that's a long overdue Oscar for the lovely Kate Winslet, who I think should've got that for Revolutionary Road. But anyway, this movie is fairly straight forward. This kid bangs this older women, she's a Nazi, he's confused, he reads to her, she learns to read, she dies, he cries, he's still confused. Praise for Ralph Fiennes(for being able to act interested in such a boring role), and of course to Kate Winslet, one of the most talented actresses I've seen in all my years(all 17 of them). Anyways, so even with all this praise, why only 1.5??, Well to be quite honest, there is a ton of sex and nudity in this movie, and I mean tonz!! You see boobs, asses, dicks, the whole nine yards. That's about the only raeson to be honest that I even bought this movie, and even that doesn't save it. Oh well, some things are better left to being a book, and some things are better left to porn.
Album: Nevermind
3.5/5
Much has already been said about this album, the enormous impact it has had on pop culture, and how it turned one band into what everyone wants to be: famous. Now, I've listen to this album a few times, since I only got it for Christmas this year. But I gotta say, 15 years later, I was just as drawn into it as everyone else. "Smells Like" the most famous song off the album, and Nirvana's signature song, had as much effect on me as it did to teens back in '92. But to me, it wasn't my favourite song(at least now in retrospect). I loved the song "Polly, Territorial Pissings, Something in the Way", all different songs, but to me, these were the better songs, the ones with deeper meaning. Later on, I got into the big gun songs, like "Come as you are, Lithium, and In Bloom", key tracks that everyone should listen to, regardless if you know anything about Nirvana, or you even like them. Because 15 years later, these songs still have an amazing effect on me, and they have stood the test of time, and unlike "Smells Like", they haven't been played to death, and people still tend to enjoy them, because this album is an album everyone can get, whether you dig punk, metal, pop, rock, it doesn't matter. "Nevermind" is a landslide, and even though people know this, from a guy who was just a baby when Nirvana was huge, that's saying something.

New Thing for the Blog
Okay, I know its been over 3 months, but let it be known, I have a brand new idea for the blog: album review. Every so often, I will review an album, giving my personal opinions towards it and so on and so on. With a vast collection of CDs, this shouldn't be too much of a problem. So, let the magic of typing with your fingers, on a keyboard, at a desk, in a room, in a building, in a town, in a city, in a province, in a country.....begin

What's The Story??
KK, I know I've been gone for over a month, but there are reasons for this, mainly, I was really stressed out over this one History course I had, as well as some military work that i had to work on. But now thats all done and I'll give you a catchup of the last month or so. As you may know, Red Shirt played on April 11th 2009 at Parkside High School. We played one song, "Come As You Are" by Nirvana. I think we did pretty good, and I think we got a generally good review, although there was the opening act, that was a kick-ass band, with a 10 minute set, and they blew the audinece away. But anyways, I dropped a history course, so now I have aonly 3 classes, Media Studies, SPA, and Navy S.E.A.Ls. Umm, military is going well, though I'm almost bankrupt(lol), but I guess that happens when you spend to much(and then some). I'll be leaving for BMQ in Borden, On on June 28th so I'll stop writing these for that time period. But other then this, nothing much has happened in the last month, so hope you are all well, and lets get back to it then

Zack and Miri go to the Hard Rock Cafe
So yesterday(all my troubles seem so far away lol), I went to the Hard Rock Cafe down in Niagara Falls, Ontario(Canada). And I had been there before but I've never been more wowed by all the stuff that I saw, from George Harrisons guitar, to Nirvana's Nevermind record. And I saw the funniest movie ever, Zack and Miri Make a Porno. It's hilarious, and I recommend you go see it

March Break/Everything Else
Well, over the last week, many interesting things have happened, one being I got my G1 license(yeah, on the first time!!), I signed up for my first gig, an Airband at my school. Now all i have to do is decide on which song to do(either Peggy Sue, Nowhere Man, In My Life or Get Rhythm). If you are in the Dundas area on April 9th, come out and see an amazing night. My March Break started last Saturday, so now I have to take Drivers Ed, or i'm not allowed to drive my dad's car. Not much else, just trying to keep the peace with myself, and not trying to hurt anyone. To everyone out there have a happy March Break!!

Is This A Beautiful Day??/Last Week
Well, today's the day, I'm going for my G1 drivers test(the written one mind you), and i cannot tell you how nervous I am about taking it. I just know I'm gonna fail, and I'm not the only one mind you, I'm just worried about dissapointing my father with this. It is his money and he has given so much support for it. But anyway onto last week. My room has been turned upside down, with all the junk in it, and it will be there until the end of next week. Music is going well, I've signed up to do an Airband performance near the beginning of April. Dunno which songs to do, but I'll think of something soon(lol). My gf is the best person ever, and I love her more then she could possibly imagine. I never thought that would ever happen to me, ever. Oh, and I cried at the end of Beauty and the Beast(Disney), just cause of the music, and everything. But anyway, that's my week, so look out, cause here comes the march Break, and more blogging to come(not that come lol).
Sunday, March 8, 2009
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Well, I've just finished the most grueling day of my life(or this March anyway lol), with me working 7 straight hours of lifting plywood, drilling screws(not those screws lol) and getting in peoples ways often. But now it's done, and i wish so much I was with my gf, cause I really need her, and if she's reading this I really do. But other then that, I've got my G1 test to worry about tommorow, so I'm kinda worried about that, but nothin else really, I'll try to write more tommorow, I'm just to tired right now :)

Is It Wrong??
Now, finally, I just got out of one of the worse 2 week stints that I have ever had in the last 3 months and I had a dream(so did Martin Luther King Jr.), that has made me question what I do: Is It Wrong?? Now I won't mention what my addiction is here, but this addiction consumed me for most of the last 2 years. Only recently, was I able to break free of it, and try to lead a "normal" life. But recently, I have slipped back into the bad habits, and breaking the pact I made with myself. Now, when I first did this, I was pissed at myself, but now, I really don't care that much, which leads me to believe that I may have already slipped back into it. I dunno. But as far as I can see in the near future, I hope one day that i will break free of this, and never have to resort to this kind of lifestyle again.

Money(That's what I want/need!)
Well, as you all know, we are in an economic crisis, with jobs getting cut in the thousands on a weekly basis. But yet, we still have enough money to by McDonalds, or that pair of shoes, or that hooker on the street(if there are hookers in your town lol). Where is the logic in that, when we are supose to save the money, yet the prices of everything stay the same. But anyway, at least I have a solid job, one which I cannot be fired from: the Navel reserve. Now I'm not pushing for anyone to join the reserve, but if you need a little extra cash, where's the harm in trying it out. If you're in high school, you can do army co-ops and get paid for it, it takes only about 3 months for them to get you into the system, so why not lol. Anyways, while i'm on the subject of csh, soon I'll have enough for the semi-acoustic that I'm savin for, and can start my new Youtube channel, but until then, I need money, that what I want!(yeah its from a song)

American Beauty/Almost Famous

These two movies saved me. I cannot explain it, and maybe that's the way it's suppose to be, cause these two movies changed the way i live life, Almost Famous with the carefree life, the life of a rocknroller(not to mention a subscription to Rolling Stone lol), asnd American Beauty with the way one man can turn around his life, just by living the way that he wants, just so he can achieve his goal. Both movies should be seen by all, I believe you won't be dissappointed by either of them, and who knows, they just might change your life.

Guitar Songs Vol. 2
Well from the last time, about 2 weeks ago give or take, I could play about 8 different songs, mostly Beatles, with a few Buddy Holly and R.E.M as well. Well, I've progressed in my guitar playing so now I can play about 11(or maybe 12??) songs. Three more Beatles songs(Norwegian Wood, And Your Bird Can Sing, and Baby's In Black), with a new song by neither Beatles, Buddy Holly or R.E.M: A Little Less Conversation, by Elvis Presley. Granted, I'm strumming, and not playing each note, but I'm attempting to do that over time, as it is important to do, but not always necessary. Also to note, with a broken string on my Electric guitar, I retuned and restrung it into a 4 String(or tenor) guitar. Its like playing a bass, but the chords are diferent, and I must admit, I love the deep sound to it(lol)

Today/3 Days Ago
Wow, I gotta say, on the academic levels this week, I've had one of the slackest ones in a while. All I've done in the last 3 days is go on the computer doing research, watching the Daily Show, working out and reading, that's all. I know it sounds easy, but I feel so wrn out afetr, I know I shouldn't but whatever lol.

School Suxs
I'm sure amny of you know how I feel, when you just don't want to do school anymore, you're tired of all the classes, the schedules, the boring lunches, the things you do after school, etc. You just can't stand it anymore, and you wanna go back to the way things are but you can't and you hate it and it sucks and you dunno what to do with the rest of your time. These are the most depressing moments of your life, but yet, these are the moents that you remember as the best of your life.

Navel Resverve/Nick and Norah's Infinte Playlist/Band
Well two things have happened this week that I've been waiting for for a while. This week, I was officially sworn into the Royal Canadian Armed Forces in the Navel Reserve division as a Cook. I know, I know, Cook is not the most exciting job, but this is only temporary, as I have no intention of staying in the Army all my life. The next item is that the movie Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist came out on DVD. This movie effected me in a way I haven't been effected by a movie since i can't remember when. Just the innocence and the sheerness of this movie won me over, and it's one of the few movies that I've seen more then once in theaters. If you haven't seen it yet, then go out to your fave video store(or illegal downloading site, your choice lol) and see it, you won't wanna miss it. Lets see what else happened this week... oh yeah, Navy SEALs is going quite well, with runs leaving me in 3rd or 4th everyday. Oh, and I started up a band with my gf(she's the singer, I'm the guitarist). Don't know what the name is or where it'll go, but it's a step in the right direction.

Royal Canadian Reserve/Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

I thought i should post this to say that I'm now offically in the Royal Canadian Navy!! I'm now OS Wheeler, which should be cool. I leave for BMQ in June, but for now, I can finally make some money($$$$$$$$$$$$$). Also, the greatest movie ever, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, came out yesterday. I urge you all to go buy, or rent this and watch it, you will not regret it, as I most certainly haven't.

Ipod
Well, after many minutes of trying, I finally got my Ipod working again finally. Now I don't look like a noob when I go to school with a Walkman anymore. Sure it's a waste of a 30GB, with only 100 songs on it, but I was lucky to even get THAT many on it. Other then that, I have nothing to look forward to in the future, except for the provincial holiday Family Day(for Ontario only XD), which I'll need, guarenteed(I know i spelt it wrong, so sue me lol)

Back to School
Well, yesterday was my first day back, and at first it seemed like a good day. But then I walked into my Film/Video class, I realised I had made a mistake. But lo and behold, a call down to Guidence changed the class to Sociaology, Psychology and Anthropology(S.P.A), which turned out to be a much better class then I excepted. After a good one on one game of basketball for lunch(which I won mind you lol), I went to my physical fitness class, more commonly known as Navy SEALs. I did so many push-ups on the first day, that I lost count. I was so tired that I didn't want to go to History, but I did, though I would've prefered not to, but w/e. Then I went home, and wondered what tommorow would have in store for me. Lots of guitar for the weekend, and maybe a chance to do nothing again, you never know(lol).

Guitar Songs
Well, its only been a few weeks, but I've assembled a collection of songs that I can now play(some better then others) on the guitar. They include Revolution, Back in the USSR, In My Life, One After 909, For Yer Blue, Love Me Do(The Beatles), Man on the Moon(REM), Peggy Sue and Words of Love(Buddy Holly). Granted this isn't a whole lot of songs, and not a lot of variety, but it's a start(it also doesn't help that I have a book with all Beatles songs, chords and words, in front of me all the time). But you never know, this is enough to cut an EP(an album that had less then 11 tracks), of classic oldies and goldies(assuming anyone wants to listen to me play all these songs, when they could listen to newer stuff, released by their great artists). But I'll keep playing the Beatle songs, with a few more songs added in here and there, and who knows, this is only the start, and good things start small, like everything else.

The Snow Outside
Well, here I am, sitting around, while the snow falls outsides and continues to pile up. I'm thinking about shoveling snow, but I'm afraid of doing all the work for nothing. So maybe I'll play some more guitar, spam WMG(Warner Music Group), or watch some movie reviews on Youtube(thank you Mrblackmoviereviews!!). But, I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to stay indoors and stay warm. But what makes me even more mad, is that some districts that are only a few kilometers away, that have a snow day. Now I wouldn't want a snowday today, as my sister would be home, and I am on break, so it would just be a waste for me. So that's my rant, I feel a little better(lol). Maybe I'll post later, but I'm not sure yet, maybe some music will help.

Notorious part II
This is an add-on to the below posted item. As you might have guessed, I'm not a big fan of rap, or the rap industry. I think it's a cheap way to make money, and anyone can really do it if they try. Why then, would I put a trailer for a movie about a rapper (Notorious B.I.G), and recommend people to go see it?? The reason being, is this was this is a man that became one of the most powerful people in the music industry. He had the talent, and was able to climb to the top of the rap industry. His tale is one that all people should listen to. It had inspired me to go forward with my guitar playing, and maybe in the right hands, I could be one of the greats. But this message isn't just for me. There are so many indie groups that have talent, and haven't gotten any exposure. My recommendation is that people looking to follw their dreams should go see this movie, cause it just maybe, the movie that'll change your life
Notorious
This movie has inspired me in so many ways, though one of them not being rap lol. Whatever, i recommend that you see this movie if you want to follow your dreams

Music is Life
Wow, how boring am I? Here I am, on one of my days off, and what am I doing?? I'm sitting at my computer trying to make it go faster, while listening over and over again, to Madonnas version of American Pie. God, I can't help it, even though Ill get creamed for it. But whatever, people say I have amazing taste in music. And I won't say they're wrong, cause it's true. As far as rock goes there are few bands that I haven't listened to yet, some which include Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins to name a few(lol). I mean, look at the main page, all those albums are masterpieces when it comes to music, and i recommend them to anyone who wants a good listen. And when i say music is life I mean it. If you can play any one song, thats good. If you can play more then 10, and master them, then you've got talent, and need to get in contact with me someday. I know probabley it won't happen, butit's a nice thought anyways.

Youtube!!
And so, the first month of my Youtube account comes to a close, with me having 43 videos and 3100 views to all of them. Now I know many large partners(people who get paid if you didn't alreday know that) get more views in a day with 1 video then with all mine combined, but what the hell. They're in it for the money, I'm not. I'm in it for the fun of doing Youtube. It's kinda stupid when you think about it, the whole Partner thing. Why can't everyone be a partner once they're over 18?? Can't others handle the competion??? I mean most of the Partners are probably rich anyway, so what's wrong with spreding the wealth? They don't really need all that money, but whatever, I'm just one voice. I don't care for the money, and I don't want it. I just thought that that was something interesting to talk about thats all lol. Oh well.

End of Exams
Well, for me the end of the week means the end of exams, so YAY!! With all the exams done I don't have to worry about academics for another 7 months, so free time for me(well not really, but a little bit lol). Lets see what else happened this week... oh yeah I got the flu, but i got over that so no worrys abouts that anymore(although by gf caught it from me, oops my bad XD), oh and Barack Obama is the new President. Hip hip horray, yippee, joy and all that. Good job, you didn't get shot. I kid i kid, I'm glad to see he's President, though it really matters less to me as I'm Canadian, and I wouldn't change it for the world, so yeah, there you go. So for everyone who reda this(probably noone) thanks and have a good one, ill see you when something cool happens lol :)
