4.5/5This album has loomed over me for many years, ever since I heard the word Pink Floyd. This album was always the peak of music in my mind, the last album I would ever listen to, the peak of rock. The craziest rock group with their greatest album. Thats the way it was. Well, finally after 2 years, I pulled out my double LP and decided to give it a listen. And I have to say, it was pretty damn good. The music was as far out as I thought it would be, the story of the album was good, and I quite enjoyed it. Maybe the length was a bit too long, or maybe some of the songs were over the top, but overall it was a good album. For those of us who havent had the experinece of listening to this album, I recommend you listen to the whole thing first before you ripéburn it onto your Ipod and listen to individual songs. The singles that were released off the album are the best songs, but taken out of context, they really dont make sense(Another Brick in the Wall, Comfortably Numb). As said before, its a story, and one of the best that Ive heard from a rock opera(unlike Tommy...grr). Before this, Id listened to one other Pink Floyd album, Dark Side of the Moon, which is a briliant fuckin album. The Wall doubles that experience. Ive never been a huge Pink Floyd fan, and Im still not entirely convinced by them, but luckly, for my next album review on a Pink Floyd this may all change. Which one will it be....
