This is my real review for this week. Let us forget about the horror of yesterday, and move on....
...
Please.
In my opinion, this is the best movie that Disney has released in the last 5 years without the help of Pixar. The characters are real, the actors are likeable, and the acting is good. The story, from the novel of the same name, is very well written, with no singing animals, unrealistic plots, and dumb characters. With actors like Robert Patrick (Terminator 2), he gives the movie credibility. The bullies are more real then in movies such as Drillbit Taylor and the children deal with it accrodingly. I'm sure that most of can imagine having a friend like the two characters have in this, and are able to share a fantasy together and be able to have a clean (Disney) platonic relationship. This is a movie that shows true friendship, right up there with Stand by Me and Doctar Bashir and Chief O'Brian (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for people who have no fucking clue who those characters are). I've not even mentioned Zooey Deschannel yet and she's only really in this for good measure for a film that doesn't really need it...not like that other film that must never be mentioned again...ever.
In conclusion, this film is Disney, so some stuff is predicable, but if your tired of all the 3D shit that's put out nowadays, then this might do it for you, it's powerful, funny and beautiful.
